May

The magnolia in the backyard has finished its two-storey high splendour, and now the lilacs, tulips and apple blossoms are opening all over town. There is familiar order to everything, but I haven’t seen any butterflies yet. I planted my strawberries in the garden, and started sprouting tomatoes, pumpkin and squash in some egg cartons. Hopefully they won’t perish in my care…

Inside we are making little changes to get ready for the summer and the heat. I am in full nesting mode, doing little jobs that have been put off for too long. I also have a growing list of things I would like to do before the baby comes in June. Cleaning, organizing, shopping. Writing thank-you cards for all of the thoughtful gifts we’ve been given.

All in good time.
